“A space to feel heard, understood, and supported — at your own pace.”
— Gemma Forshaw
You don't have to keep carrying it on your own.
So many of the people I work with arrive feeling stuck — exhausted by their own thoughts, or quietly held back by something they've never put into words. If you recognise yourself in any of this, you're in the right place.
Endless overthinking
Your mind won't switch off. You replay conversations, predict the worst, and struggle to rest.
Panic and anxiety
Your body feels on edge — racing heart, tight chest, shallow breath — often without obvious reason.
Quiet self-criticism
A harsh inner voice tells you you're not enough, even when others see you differently.
Overwhelm and burnout
You're holding it all together on the outside, but barely coping underneath.
Trauma still surfacing
Old experiences keep showing up — through memories, dreams, reactions you can't quite explain.
Avoidance taking over
You're shrinking your world to feel safe, but it's starting to cost you the things you love.
Practical tools to understand your patterns — and gently change them.
Therapy with me isn't about endlessly talking in circles. Together we make sense of what's keeping you stuck, then build real, evidence-based skills you can use in everyday life. I tailor every session to you — whether that means working with anxious thoughts, processing difficult memories, or rebuilding a kinder relationship with yourself.

Gemma Forshaw
CBT & EMDR Therapist
Hello, I'm Gemma.
I'm a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and trained EMDR practitioner. From my home practice in Staffordshire, I work with adults across the UK online and face to face so therapy can fit into your life rather than disrupt it.
People often come to me when they're tired of holding it all together. My approach is warm, collaborative and unhurried. We'll make sense of what's happening, then work together on small, practical changes that build into something lasting.

“She made EMDR feel safe and manageable. Memories that used to overwhelm me just don't carry the same weight now.”
The questions I hear most.
Have a question that isn't here? Send a confidential enquiry — I'll answer personally.
Does online therapy actually work?
Yes — research consistently shows online CBT and EMDR are as effective as in-person therapy for most adults. Many of my clients say working from a familiar space actually helps them open up more quickly.
Is online therapy right for me?
Online therapy suits most adults dealing with anxiety, trauma, OCD, panic, stress and low self-worth. In our free consultation we'll talk through what you're experiencing and decide together if it's a good fit. If it isn't, I'll point you toward someone who can help.
How is my privacy protected?
Sessions take place over a secure, GDPR-compliant video platform. Your notes are kept confidential, encrypted and held in line with BABCP and ICO guidelines. Anything you share stays between us, with very limited exceptions I'll explain at the start.
What do sessions cost?
Sessions are £90 for a 50-minute appointment. The initial 15-minute consultation is free. I keep a small number of reduced-fee spaces — please ask if cost is a barrier.
How do I get started?
Book a free 15-minute consultation using the button below, or send a confidential enquiry. I'll usually reply within one working day to arrange a time that works for you.
How often will we meet?
Most people start with weekly 50-minute sessions, then move to fortnightly as things settle. Therapy lengths vary — some people feel real change within 8–12 sessions, others stay longer. We'll review together as we go.
